Spiders!!

Random funny story:
Alyssa, my roommate, and I were doing our online summer course homework today in the basement. Alyssa's boyfriend had just called and they were talking when all of the sudden Alyssa gets up. She takes one look and runs over to a little rocking chair that is about 6 inches off of the ground and stands on it screaming "Spider!" She hung up on her boyfriend saying "This is serious! I have to go." I couldn't see it; it blended in with the carpet. Either way I went to get my tennis shoes. We kicked stuff around looking for that ugly creature until we found it. After that it was an extra dead spider. I made sure of it by hitting it with my tennis shoes quite a few times. We were then left with a dilemma, how do we get rid of it? Neither of us wanted to carry it outside or to a garbage can. Alyssa had an idea, and she went to get the vacuum. It is brilliant. We could make sure that it was gone, but at the same time we didn't have to get too close to it.

Nearing the End of the School Year

So this weekend has just been amazing so far. The weather is perfect to be outside. Today, Alyssa Taylor and I ran 9 miles. We are training for a marathon!! Aaahh. We are 1/3 the way there!! Think positive. It is going to be a long race, but I am determined to do it at least once in my lifetime. We got done, and my roommate was like hey do you wanna go canoe. Yeah, I did. So we went, and it was so windy. For the first half hour we were trying to figure out how to steer. We were gone, but by the end we had a sense of what we were doing. It was so funny. We would try so hard to just turn the boat around and would get no where. I am a little burnt now, but by tomorrow it should be gone. AND if my burn is still there i won't notice it between my tired legs from the run this morning and tired back and arms from rowing this afternoon. Good times. Why can't it be nice like this year round instead of crunch time for school?? We were all talking about writing on our papers and test that instead of studying we enjoyed the weather. Teachers would take that right? haha

Pee Lab

So today in anatomy and physiology lab we had to do urine analysis. I had to pee in a cup 6 times in three hours!! It was very humbling walking to the bathroom, peeing, and the carrying my pee in a cup through the academic building to go test it and other people's pee. It was kind of really gross. BUT everyday is an experience.

Nicaragua!!!

So for Spring Break i went to Nicaragua to visit a cousin down there!! It was so much fun. It was in the 90's every day and at night it only got down into the 70's. So the weather was beautiful. i did get burnt which stinks because now I am peeling. So much for the tan till summer break. We got to go to a resort by a lagoon. It was beautiful. We saw a gorgeous waterfall, where I happened to walk through a bee hive. I got stung 7 times!! That hurt a bit. BUT it's okay I found out that i am not allergic to bees!!! We hung out at another resort that had 3 or 4 different pools. That was a nice relaxing day. AND of course we went surfing!!! Ahh That was my first time. I got up on my fourth try!! It was awesome. The first day we went the waves were perfect. The second day we went the waves were perfect BUT they were huge. 8ft tall!! um for a beginner no thanks. I thought that I could handle it until i tried paddling out there. It took forever to get to the calm water. And a big wave broke on me and I got tossed about pretty hard. AFter I came up for air I got on that board and paddled for dear life to get to the calm water. When I got there I was perfectly content with just sitting there. It was the safer option. I tried to catch one of the big waves and decided that will be for another time. When I am better. I did step on a stingray but don't worry it didn't sting me!! yeah. so in a nutshell it was AWESOME!!!

Regular Life

I haven't had anything exciting happen for awhile. Spring Break is coming up though!! This semester is a tough one though. I am taking General Chemistry, Diversity of Life, Anatomy & Physiology, and Exercise Physiology. It has been rough, but I am making it through. It is just starting to warm up here. Mid 20's!!! That is about as exciting as it gets lately. Too bad.

Skydiving

So today my best friend, Jessica, and I went skydiving. It was crazy and amazing. We had to rock-paper-scissors to see who would go first. Jess won. Just sitting there waiting took forever. I got a radio to see when she was jumping. I couldn't see them until they opened the parachute, which was a hott pink. Then it was my turn. I was already cold watching her. Going up was great. Another person was jumping too on my flight, but at 6000 feet lower than I was. I got to see her jump out. My first thought was "Ooo man." Then we went up until 10,000ft and it was my turn. I got hooked up to my tandem instructor, Keith. He was a great guy. Then he opened the door. I forgot where to put my hands. I kept grabbing on to things. I didn't want to get caught in the wind and just fall out. Then all of the sudden he jumped out and I was free falling through the sky at 120mph. It was crazy!! You can't breath through your mouth. It is pretty much impossible. Trust me I tried that. It was great though. The free-falling part was the best. It was amazing how fast it was to drop 5,000ft. I think it took 5 seconds. The funny thing was that he told me that at 6,000ft he would show me my altitude thing and that I had to pull the cord at 5000ft. I was like okay i can do that. I put my hand on the cord and was watching the dial drop. Then all of the sudden he pulled it and I was like it's not 5,000ft yet. Apparently he meant that between 6,000 and 5,000ft I was supposed to pull it. You can't tell me a certain number and mean something else. It doesn't work like that. Then we were floating through the sky. I was able to turn the parachute how I wanted. However, all of those turns do not do much for my stomach. It was here that I realized that I was freezing. Man was it cold. However, I was not going to think about that. The landing was perfect though. It was so soft. I always thought that it was going to be a little rougher. Maybe acquire a bruise somewhere. Nothing!!! Wow!!! Recommend it to everyone.

Thanksgiving Break

This Thanksgiving Break was amazing. My family and I went to Denver. Thursday we went to a Denver Broncos game. They finally won after a losing streak. It was because I was there obviously. haha. However, the worst part was the guy sitting next to me. He was leaning way over into my seat. He kept asking me "Is this really your first game?" Every 10 seconds. Yes, yes it is. It is the same answer as the last time. I think he was possibly high and for sure drunk. Anywho, Go Broncos!!! Then on Friday I was able to tan! It was amazing. I even got a tan line. I was wearing shorts and it was almost December! We went hiking in the mountains. Then on Saturday night we went downtown Denver. The weather was just amazing.
